But the Reillys have always liked to do things their own way, and before long rivalries erupt with neighbours and even police, with devastating consequences. In this harsh, unforgiving but beautiful place, only the strongest will survive. Wildhorse Creek is a novel about family tribulations and tragedies, violent weather, bitter feuds, passion, friendship and first love. There are deaths, droughts, floods and plenty of animals. But essentially it's the story of a young man from a broken home who falls into a family where he can at last belong. Though he's forced to grow up very quickly, he ultimately finds love and his rightful place in the world.
