Carrying on from book one, Tales of Mossycup Wood Frogbit and the Big Gloop, this story tells the tale of one very small Pogglewitt. He is so small he is very often forgotten when important and exciting events happen in Mossycup Wood. But despite and possibly because of this Fleabane has many chums who he visits every day. On this particular day he visits his very good friend Jenny Wren and together they scurry and skitter on the forest floor finding tasty morsels for breakfast, spiderlings and mosshoppers yummy yum yum. He then comes across his friend Squirrel who is busy gathering goodies for his winter larder. Thinking this a good idea Fleabane does a little gathering for himself, it' s always good to know you can little nibble on a tasty something should you need it during the long cold Winter months. When all this is done Fleabane jumps onto Squirrel' s back and together they race through the canopy causing all sorts of mayhem along the way. Suddenly Squirrel comes to an abrupt holt pinging Fleabane from his back like an excited flea. "What is that terrible pong? " Exclaims Fleabane. There is only one place in Mossycup Wood with a pong as strong as this, and that is Hogbellow Bottom. Down below is the fabled Plumbaggin clutching his very smart moccasin and wailing very loudly. Bravely creeping down the tree Fleabane asks the Plumbaggin his name, "Snorri" comes the reply. Hoping Snorri doesn' t notice his knocking knees Fleabane takes a look at his very stinky toe and spies a prickle. Holding his breath to stop the pong travelling up his hooter any further Fleabane pulls on the prickle with all his might. What a relief! Now that the prickle is no longer a problem Snorri and Fleabane can get down to the business of getting to know one another. It turns out Snorri doesn' t eat Pogglewitt after all and actually they enjoy many of the same things, rose petal tea with a dandelion cookie on the side. Despite their differences and the strong pong that is now making Fleabanes eyes water and his throat sting a little Fleabane and Snorri have become very good friends and hope to visit one another very soon.
