Karissa is a California Native. She grew up between sunny San Diego and the Santa Ynez Chumash Reservation. She created Netflix Animation' s preschool series, Spirit Rangers which was inspired by her childhood adventures in National Parks and bedtime stories of when the animals were people. She' s written for preschool favorites such as Disney Junior' s Vampirina, Doc McStuffins, T. O. T. S and The Chicken Squad. She resides in Los Angeles with her chiweenie, Luna.
