The second in a series of tales about the clans of fearless Vikings and mystical Sirens who face each other in a neverending battle over their greatest source of life: the sea. A young merman struggles to master his powers over magic-and to keep secret a forbidden relationship . A Viking is convinced that a mermaid murdered his eldest son seeks revenge against the world beneath the waves. Two races at war, their battles savage, bloody, and ultimately tragic-for their fates are intertwined far more than either side realizes.
Nicolas Mitric studied graphic design at the ESDI (Ecole Superieure de Design Industriel) in Paris in 1989. In 1993, he began the first research for what would become his first comic book series in 1998: Arkeod, published by Soleil. For volume 2, he was awarded the Coup de Coeur prize at the Chambery Festival in 2001. One year later, the first volume of a long collaboration with Crisse was published: Kookaburra Universe, which tells the story of the origins of the charismatic Dragan Preko, hero of the successful science fiction series Kookaburra, whose drawing Crisse entrusted to him in 2004. In 2006, he became the collection director of this space-opera in 27 volumes, divided into three series, and in 2007, he scripted Kookaburra K, in collaboration with Humberto Ramos and co-edited by Marvel in the United States. At the same time, from 2003, he designed four new series for which he is the scriptwriter: Tessa -intergalactic agent-, Anatole and company, Aquarius, and The Way of Silence. The first of them was nominated for the 9/12 years old prize at the 2005 Angouleme International Festival and received the prize of the Maison Laffitte Festival. In 2010 he signed Seven Dragons with Delcourt, drawn by Sylvain Guinebaud and in 2012 at Glenat, the book Ultime voyage en Alchimie, prize of the Creil book festival. In 2015, he moved to Nantes to co-found the transmedia company Termites Factory. He also publishes several games, for which he is the art director and illustrator (such as Legendary Celtic Games, Legendary Pirates and Corsairs, Cthulhu Hunters). In 2018, he created the Celtigans, a series of illustrated children' s novels, mixing Breton and Celtic legends and the graphic universe of manga. Gihef, whose real name is Jean-Francois Baudot, was born in Belgium and grew up in France. Following his meeting with the cartoonist Eric Lenaerts, he moved toward a more realistic style of drawing. In 2001, he signed his first album, RIP Limited, with Nuclea. He then published comics at Vents d' Ouest and Dupuis. Gihef then turned to what really fascinates him: comic scenarios like OSS 117, L' Envers des Contes or Mister Hollywood. The origins of his universe is steeped with Nordic mythology which serves as the stage for the his series, Sirens and Vikings. Marie Bardiaux-Vaiente is a scriptwriter, a doctor of history, an activist for the universal abolition of the death penalty, and a feminist. She testifies to all of her various passions and interests through her work as a writer, as shown by Fille d' OEdipe (6 pieds sous terre), Les Reines de sang (Delcourt) or her collaboration with the Feministes collective. She is the writer of Glenat' s L' Abolition, dedicated to Robert Badinter' s fight for the abolition of the death penalty, and of L' Enfer est vide, tous les demons sont ici about the trial of Adolf Eichmann. Maria Francesca Perifano, born in 1994 in Benevento (Italy), always wanted to be a cartoonist. She studied at the Scuola del fumetto in Milan and worked during her studies, both for public clients (including Treccani Enciclopedia, as an illustrator), and for private clients. She also worked as an assistant (pencils and colorist) for some designers. She currently works as an illustrator for Humanoids and Cronaca di Topolinia. She is known for her realistic, detailed illustration style. Francesco Trifogli was born on March 5, 1978 in Rome. Though he attended a year at the Scuola Romana del Fumetto, he is predominantly a self-taught draftsmen and scriptwriter. He won the jury award at Lucca Comics & Games in 2009, just one year after its first publication. In 2012, he began his collaboration with Vertigo, illustrating a brief history for the volume Mystery in Space and the monthly series Hinterkind. In France, he worked with Editions Tabou for which he wrote and drew seven erotic volumes and with Petit a Petit on the historical volume Le Havre. Born in Italy in 1988. Graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples and at the Italian School of Comics "Comix" in 2010, she started drawing for the publishing house GG Studio during her studies, from 2009 to 2013. In 2010, she participated in the detective project "Nero Napoletano,"published by the Italian newspaper Il Corriere. As a cover artist and illustrator, for GG Studio, she realized the fourth and final issue of the successful series Red House Road, the fifth book of Mediterranea and the first three books of Extinction Seed for the American market. She then took the lead on Big Dog Ink' s Knightingail project, producing the third series, entitled Dawn of Destiny. In the same years, she worked on Jabal Entertainment' s graphic novel, Blades of Hope. In 2016, she began working for the Canadian publisher Red 5 Comics on the dark thriller Keyser Soze: Scorched Earth, a sequel to The Usual Suspects. At the moment, she is collaborating with Nicolas Mitric and Gihef for Humanoids on the Sirens project, for which she has the great opportunity to draw her favorite characters, precisely, mermaids.
