' It follows me and yet it' s not a part of me It does the things I do' . 48 inventive, insightful poems exploring the darker side. From bullies to black holes, cats to clowns, these original and thought-provoking poems are a roller coaster ride through both the silliness and sadness of being human. Scared? celebrates the work of poets Neal Zetter and Joshua Seigal and it' s not afraid of exploring the tougher side of growing up. A book that can pave the way for important conversations. This is Neal and Joshua' s second collaboration for Troika. Yuck and Yum: A Feast of Funny Food Poems has been widely praised for its vibrant poetry and has been cited as the perfect book for using in the classroom and engaging children.
' Joshua Seigal understands what appeals to children, what makes them laugh and what concerns them. . . he' s a bright new flame on the children' s poetry scene. " -- Brian Moses ' [Neal Zetter makes] Rappy, happy poetic magic. ' * Lancashire Evening Post *
Neal Zetter is a London-based comedy performance poet, author and entertainer who has been using poetry writing and performance to develop literacy, confidence, self-expression and creativity in 3 to 103 year-olds for more than twenty years. Neal makes poetry fun and accessible for the least engaged students but can also stretch and challenge the most able. Neal lives in London. Joshua Siegel is an exciting, dynamic, performance poet and children' s entertainer. He won the Laugh Out Loud Book Award in 2020. He is also an experienced, sought-after workshop leader and educator who uses poetry to inspire people of all ages and abilities. He likes llamas, lemurs and Lhasa Apsos (a type of fluffy dog from Tibet). He dislikes yoghurt, goats' cheese and raisins. If he wasn' t a poet, he' d probably be a food critic.
