THE AUTHOR John Yeoman wrote his first children's book (illustrated by Quentin Blake) immediately after leaving Cambridge University, where he read English. He taught for twenty-eight years, mostly as Head of English at the Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulle in London, but retired to spend more time writing, reading and relaxing in France.
