Calle's most defining book on working in graphite, The Pencil now features revisions and updates by his son, who is also an accomplished artist and illustrator. AUTHOR: Noted for his distinct and realistic drawing style, Paul Calle (1928 2010) was selected in 1962 to participate in the NASA Art Program and later became the sole artist chosen to depict the astronauts of the Apollo 11 mission. Much of his work consists of postage stamp design for the U.S. Postal Service and other organisations. During the latter part of his career he focused on Western subjects, and many of his drawings belong to major Western art collections.
