Full of historical imagery, concept designs, marketing photos and more, the book examines the game' s design philosophy and origins through the artists, designers, developers, and other creative teams who brought PAC-MAN to life. This new non-fiction book will journey from creator Toru Iwatani' s "pizza slice" inspiration to the game' s incredible success in arcades and beyond. The book also dives into PAC-MAN' s unprecedented impact on pop culture, with more than 40 new interviews from key players around the world.
Terpstra specialises in writing for video games and video game companies. He is the lead writer on PC game Blaze Revolutions, and the author of four books on video game art and design, and has written for SEGA, Square Enix, Guerrilla Games and Vlambeer. Lapetino is the award-winning author of the best-selling Art of Atari, the Creative Director at Moby Fox, and a designer of high-end toy packaging with Super 7. His writing takes the form of books, articles, essays, brand strategy, and hard-working copy. His greatest passion is telling the stories of creative people-the unsung makers, designers and artists working at the intersection of pop culture and design.
