A revolutionary healing framework that is a blueprint for transforming most problems, ranging from the most pedestrian to the most treatment resistant. And sometimes, the transformation simply takes one hour. The One-Hour Miracle: A 5-Step Process to Guide Your Self-Healing presents the revolutionary Life-Centered Therapy (LCT), a healing framework that is a blueprint for transforming most problems--physical (such as chronic pain, asthma, addictions), emtional and mental (including depresssion, PTSD, OCD, paranoia) relational (releasing destructive patterns), and spiritual (alienation, despair, inertia), And sometimes, the transformation simply takes one hour. Filled with testimonials of real-life people who have benefitted from this approach when other attempts to end their suffering turned up fruitless, it provides people with an entirely new way of understanding their suffering, giving them inspiration and hope that they can create miracles in their lives. The One-Hour Miracle includes a protocol that allows people to facilitate this process on their own by finding the root cause of their suffering and shifting it. This framework helps them live engaged lives of freedom, peace, joy, wisdom, and vitality. In the book, co-authors Andrew Hahn, PsyD, and Joan Beckett, LMHC, will teach readers how to do this work for themselves and others. With step-by-step instructions, readers are led through a five-step process, an integration of mindfulness and body-centered therapy, that guides them through their own self-healing practices and how to do them. In addition, therapists who are reading the book will have enough information to immediately start using the approach with clients without needing more training.
"The One-Hour Miracle was twenty-eight years in the making-the net result of which is a deeply humane, tenderly nuanced, sensitively drawn, and brilliantly inspired work of art. This unpretentious and understated gem of a book by Hahn and Beckett offers finely honed pearls of wisdom that are at once simple but profound, humble but sophisticated, unassuming but quietly compelling, and subtle but absolutely riveting. "Seamlessly interlacing theory and practice, the richly textured tapestry that Hahn and Beckett lovingly weave for the reader has, as its centerpiece, the ' wisdom of the body' and the body' s intrinsic capacity to heal itself-healing that takes place from the inside out and from the bottom up. But the warp and woof of their broad-ranging, holistic Life Centered approach to easing suffering and transforming darkness into light also incorporates elements of choice, freedom, existentialism, accountability, possibilities, embodiment, acceptance, mindfulness, consciousness, awareness, witnessing, patterns, attunement, intuition, imagination, spirituality, vision, intention, the quantum realm, muscle testing, and energy psychology. "Now that I have finished reading this generously accessible, refreshingly streamlined, and beautifully crafted piece de resistance, I realize that I will need to re-evaluate my own therapeutic approach! A dyed-in-the-wool psychoanalyst by training with decades of clinical experience under my belt, I had always been convinced that transformation and growth required years and years-and not just several hours. But now I find myself thinking that perhaps I have been wrong! Quite possibly by the time you yourself have finished reading this uplifting, inspiring, and hope-infused chronicling of embodied healing journeys, perhaps you, too, will find yourself believing in miracles!" -Martha Stark, MD, faculty, Harvard Medical School; co-founder/co-director/faculty, Center for Psychoanalytic Studies, William James College; author of nine books, including Relentless Hope: The Refusal to Grieve "With the same unflinching courage with which Freud excavated the unconscious and changed the way we understand mental phenomena, The One-Hour Miracle sets itself to expand the frontiers of psychology. It advocates for a paradigm shift in the field, for it invites us to think of our suffering not in terms of drives, childhood experiences, or interpersonal relations, but in a much larger metaphysical framework where the totality of Life (understood as an energetic whole) precedes dismemberment and separation. This shift of perspective opens a path to healing that defies Western rationality, for it sees the origin of trauma through a temporal lens that refuses to admit a neat distinction between our past, present, and future. Such a radical approach calls for the syncretic integration of healing techniques, from muscle testing to Enneagram to more traditional psychotherapeutic tools. More importantly, it bespeaks an attitude of mind in which narratives are not measured by their literal truth but their pragmatic efficacy. The results border on the miraculous, but the search always starts with the most immediate and profound: asking the body to share its wisdom and accepting wherever it might take us. " -Pablo Muchnik, associate professor of philosophy, Marlboro Institute for the Liberal Arts, Emerson College "As yoga teachers, we often find students run into limitations, particularly when doing asanas/poses. Typically, students breathe into them to let them go. While non-attachment is profoundly helpful and in alignment with a message of their book, Hahn and Beckett suggest that the limitation isn' t the problem, it' s the point. By bringing all our awareness to the discomfort associated with the limitation and asking it what it' s come to share, worlds of healing (karma too) become possible. This perspective is a real contribution to the psycho-spiritual, mind-body aspect of yoga. We endorse this work wholeheartedly. " -Desiree Rumbaugh and Andrew Rivin, certified yoga instructors "This book reveals the best of Buddhist psychology. It starts with explaining the key Buddhist concept of life is suffering and then describes how to become non-attached so that suffering can end. If there is one book that I can recommend that weds the spiritual and the psychological, this book truly is it. " -Lama Surya Das, author of the bestselling Awakening the Buddha Within "It' s a true joy to recommend this book to those searching for answers as to why they are suffering. These findings offer a window into healing that' s possible as we reintegrate the split-off fragments of our consciousness, especially the body' s storage of overwhelming, painful, energetic memories. " -Mary T. Sise, LCSW, DCEP, past president, Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology, coauthor of The Energy of Belief. "There is more to one' s story and suffering than personal history and context. We carry all kinds of experiences, lodged in our energetic field. LCT creates a sacred container to hold and guide people as they discover and release the imprints of trauma and gather wisdom. Don' t be thrown off by the title, cliched but true. I' ve practiced this work for decades and can attest to its effectiveness. I am enthralled by the vivid tales that emerge from the deeper knowing of a person' s body and soul. Call it imaginative, call it mystical, the outcomes can be astounding. Time after time, when a person' s suffering is inexplicable or other methods fall short, the approach uncovers pathways to freedom. What a way-shower this book is, and the illustrative stories are irresistible reading! I am so excited for you to hold it in your hands. " -Jenny Freeman MFT, REAT, author of Playful Approaches to Serious Problems: Narrative Therapy for Children and Their Families "When I first witnessed LCT, I was so impressed by the depth, elegance, and respectfulness of the method that I knew straight away I had to learn it. Now, learning has become a lot easier-the authors have set out the method with clarity and brilliance. The assumptions on which LCT is based describe a worldview that is worth the price of the book on its own. It deserves to become a classic. " -Tony Dickinson, former assistant secretary for health in Hong Kong government "In healing, we deal with many layers of the body, mind, and heart. This wise book can give you the tools to integrate and flourish. Full of practical guidance and exercises culled from decades of clinical experiences, you' ll find this book gives you a steady hand, inviting you to be connected internally and externally. " -Deirdre Fay, MSW, author of Becoming Safely Embodied and Attachment-Based Yoga & Meditation for Trauma Recovery "I couldn' t stop reading this book. Initially skeptical of some of their techniques, Hahn and Beckett fully engaged me with their integration of mindfulness and body-centered psychotherapy. Their compassion and conviction for this work is evident on every page. Both accessible and deep, I will go back to this book again and again to better understand my own journey of suffering and healing, as well as to develop better tools to support others. " -Judith Oleson, director, The Tom Porter Program on Religion and Conflict Transformation, Boston University School of Theology "Hahn and Beckett have found a way to marry mindfulness with the intuitive wisdom of the body. They show us how to tune into bodily sensations and ask a single, seemingly simple question: ' What have you come to share? ' Under the authors' sure guidance, we can use our response to unlock self-compassion, new clarity, and a process of deep healing. " -Marian Sandmaier, author of Invisible Kin: The Search for Connection Among Adult Sisters and Brothers. "Having practiced LCT for over fifteen years, what you are about to read is an amazing healing paradigm enfolded into an extraordinary framework for understanding Life. The authors weave complex traumas into beautiful fractal patterns in Life, demonstrating how to make meaning out of suffering; the answer is within; our body remembers everything. The writing is clear, packed with intriguing stories and boundless wisdom. The new consciousness-based healing paradigm that this book introduces is a miracle itself-definitely worth the attention of therapists from every therapeutic perspective, and for anyone who wishes to make sense of and heal their suffering. " -Shu-Fang Wang, writer, energy psychology lecturer/practitioner "As described in The One-Hour Miracle, LCT is very thoughtful work in how it addresses consciousness, from where problems stem, and not just surface issues. When we shift to the observer instead of the victim everything can heal. " -Kim D' Eramo, DO, bestselling author of The MindBody Toolkit "This book is written like silk; it' s so smooth and moves the reader along like a good mystery novel, eagerly spurring you on. Several years ago, I personally benefited from the healing modalities detailed within it, and as so many of the case studies illustrate, the self-guided inquiry led to an emotionally healing shift. Through the skillful stepwise guidance herein, these tools are now available to a wider audience in the service of greater self-awareness and emotional well-being. " -Peg Baim, NP "Joni and Andy, based on decades of work with clients, have produced a book that contributes to the cultivation of the compassionate inner observer and to enhancing our capacity for caring inquiry into our own experience, recognized across traditions as a key to reconnecting with our original wholeness, vitality, and joyful aliveness. Their emphasis on witnessing and holding suffering with safe kindness, and not pushing clients toward regression or catharsis, is aligned with current traumatology research. " -Ingrid Hurwitz, trauma-informed Enneagram teacher, speaker, and executive coach "Everyone needs the light of hope for healing and transformation this book inspires. " -Karen Wyatt, MD, author of 7 Lessons for Living from the Dying "I was a mainstream MD. Then, after my son died, I discovered mediums and how they could open to unseen worlds and provide information that was undeniable but made no sense from a rational perspective. It was unclear how to bring the two worlds together until I started to witness the extraordinary healing power of LCT. I witnessed a boy with a horrendous disease gain a sense of hope, a woman with severe anxiety have it transform, and a medium with anxiety and inexplicable stomach problems have them resolve-all in one session. The information in The One-Hour Miracle truly can be life-changing for you and can change the whole paradigm of how to bring the seen and unseen worlds together for healing. " -Elisa Medhus, MD, Channeling Erik podcast host "The first time I encountered LCT, I knew that it would change the way I work as a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. Little did I know how much the work would change my life through an impromptu healing session! I read about a hundred books a year, many of them in the field of psychology. Rarely do I find one that is a page-turner; that I have a hard time putting down. Hahn and Beckett' s new book is filled with interesting theory and compelling case studies that illustrate the framework that allows for deep, lasting change and healing. They give ways to heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually that you can do at home by yourself or with someone you trust guiding you. I highly recommend it, particularly if you have tried all kinds of other modalities but haven' t found the results you want and deserve to have. " -Elizabeth Bonet, PhD, LMHC,Hypnotize Me podcast host "I highly recommend this book to people who are looking for a new approach to everyday problems. " -Sharon Saline, PsyD, clinical psychologist, speaker, and author of What Your ADHD Child Wishes You Knew "The One-Hour Miracle is a brilliant introduction to one of the highest-level solutions for suffering that I have ever known. Hahn and Beckett are pioneers in modern medicine, able to see that imagination is the key to a solid foundation for well-being. Working with them has led me to profound breakthroughs, so much so that I often refer LCT to my own clients. We have long needed a version of therapy that asserts that who we are is powerful enough to break through all perceived limitations. Hahn and Beckett have discovered that version and, in this book, offer it generously to the world. " -Amisha Patel, founder, The Tree of Life Success series "The world of energetic healing is here, and Andy and Joni' s work is at the forefront of healing trauma and, therefore, disease. I love and endorse their work. " -Richard Flook, author of Why Am I Sick? "I' ve been familiar with LCT for over twenty years, and the work is truly cutting edge. It is a system that creates a two-way communication between the conscious mind and the body that allows real healing to occur in a most natural and profound way. " -David Irvine, MD "I heartily applaud Hahn and Beckett for the significant healing transformations they are making in people' s lives as they actively pursue their mission to help end all suffering. I highly recommend it!" -Irene Weinberg, author of They Serve Bagels in Heaven, host of Grief and Rebirth podcast
