Norfolk, 1939 Pregnant Marianne Archer is more than happy to be evacuated from London to the scenic Norfolk countryside. However, when she arrives in a town expecting to house school children, the villagers must scramble to accommodate the mothers . . . and their new babies! Thea' s home feels much too big for just her alone, especially during the war. She opens up the rambling five-bedroom house not only to her family, but to Marianne, who she quickly learns is hiding a few secrets . . . The ladies of Rookery House are fighting their own battles on the Home Front - but can the community come together to protect their own?
Rosie Hendry lives by the sea in Norfolk with her husband and two children. She is the author of the East End Angels series, which is an uplifting and heart-warming saga series following the lives and loves of Winnie, Frankie and Bella, who all work for the London Auxiliary Ambulance Service (LAAS) during the Blitz. Listening to her father' s tales of life during the Second World War sparked Rosie' s interest in this period and she loves researching further, searching out gems of real life events which inspire her writing.
