Poppy McKeever is reluctant to move to an old cottage on Dartmoor - until she discovers that her new home comes complete with its own pony. But life at Riverdale is not as straightforward as it seems, especially when Poppy glimpses a flash of grey in the woods. Her stepmother Caroline is acting weirdly, and her adrenaline-junkie brother Charlie is on the hunt for big cats. And when Poppy is faced with a terrible dilemma - to save her brother or the pony she has always longed for - who will she choose? The Lost Pony of Riverdale is the first in the bestselling Riverdale Pony Stories, ideal for anyone who loves horses, adventure and books you can' t put down. Perfect for fans of Lauren St John, Stacy Gregg, Pippa Funnell, Olivia Tuffin and Clare Balding.
' The best pony stories are driven by the characters of the humans in them, and this one is. ' Jane Badger, author of Heroines on Horseback: The Pony Book in Children' s Literature; ' This is an intelligently and well-written modern pony book, suitable for boys, girls and grown-ups alike. ' Cressida Burton, author of The Ravensbay School Stories; ' I really enjoyed this book. The young protagonist is likeable and sympathetic, and the surrounding characters are well-drawn. I often recommend this series to young readers. ' Kate Lattey, author of the Dare to Dream and Pony Jumpers series; ' I love to read other equine writer' s stories and this story by Amanda Wills delivers everything one could want - action, mystery, horses. The characters were believable, the story line was wonderful. ' Author Laura Hesse; ' I really enjoyed this book. Full of suspense! I had to keep reading to find out what happened next! Very well written and thought out story. ' Author Jessica D Adams; ' The Lost Pony of Riverdale was a fantastic book - it had complex and interesting characters, suspense, real life problems many readers could relate to and the author knows her ponies. Would highly recommend this book and this author for all horse lovers. ' Author Rachael Eliker.
