Lindy Lee: Moon in a Dew Drop will be a major survey of Lee' s work and will be presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia in 2020 for free to the public. Curated by MCA Director, Elizabeth Ann Macgregor OBE and drawing on four decades of practice, Lindy Lee: Moon in a Dew Drop will be the largest presentation of the artist' s work to date. Exhibition highlights include a major new immersive artwork, Moonlight Deities (2020), which comprises of multiple suspended circular sculptures as well as Secret World of a Starlight Ember, a large-scale public sculpture that will be exhibited on the forecourt of the MCA on Circular Quay. The monograph publication for the exhibition Lindy Lee: Moon in a Dew Drop, is a substantial and well researched 180-page catalogue which articulates and expands unique aspects of Lee' s practice, her Australian and Chinese heritage and the artist' s long relationship with the MCA Director. Elizabeth Ann Macgregor OBE, Director of the MCA for 20 years, was recognised in 2019 as the most influential woman in Arts & Culture by the Australian Financial Review.
Lindy Lee, born in 1954, is one of Australia' s foremost contemporary artists. With a practice spanning over 40 years, Lindy Lee has exhibited widely in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA. She is represented in numerous major public and private collections, including the Art Gallery of South Australia, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, National Gallery of Australia, National Gallery of Victoria and Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art.
