When journalist Ellie looks through her newspaper's archives for a story, she doesn't think she'll find anything of interest. Instead she discovers a letter from 1960, written by a man asking his lover to leave her husband - and Ellie is caught up in the intrigue of a past love affair. Despite, or perhaps because of her own romantic entanglements with a married man. In 1960, Jennifer wakes up in hospital after a car accident. She can't remember anything - her husband, her friends, who she used to be. And then, when she returns home, she uncovers a hidden letter, and begins to remember the lover she was willing to risk everything for. Ellie and Jennifer's stories of passion, adultery and loss are wound together in this richly emotive novel - interspersed with real 'last letters'.
Exciting, moving, intriguing; the atmosphere's perfect, the plotting is masterly, the characters are brilliant Penny Vincenzi Epic, romantic and completely and utterly brilliant. My book of the year. Lisa Jewell I read it in one giant greedy gulp. Jojo Moyes is a brilliant writer. India Knight I lost myself completely in THE LAST LETTER FROM YOUR LOVER, I totally adored it. Utterly compulsive and swooningly romantic, it's just perfect. Jenny Colgan Moyes brings intelligence and wit to the traditional romance and this gorgeous novel kept me reading till the small hours. Saga on THE LAST LETTER FROM YOUR LOVER A wonderful, emotional book - just make sure you put aside enough time to sit down and enjoy it uninterrupted. www.thebookbag.co.uk on THE LAST LETTER FROM YOUR LOVER 'A fabulous novel that is both laugh out loud funny and heart stoppingly beautiful.' Shape Magazine, Australia 'The storyline and writing immersed me completely in another world ... This novel should have broad appeal: the careful characterisation, the realistic dialogue, the crafting of the world in which the lovers lived, the unsentimental portrayal of marriage and relationships in the 1960s ... This absorbing novel takes the reader on a fulfilling journey.' Courier Mail A small-life-big-dreams weepie that'll have you snivelling ecstatically into your cocoa Daily Mail on THE HORSE DANCER A tear-inducing but ultimately uplifting story, with a narrative that zips along faster than a cantering horse Sunday Express on THE HORSE DANCER A tale brimming with tenderness and romance Marie Claire on THE HORSE DANCER
