Rachel Eisendrath is a critic and scholar specializing in English Renaissance poetry. Her first book, Poetry in a World of Things- Aesthetics and Empiricism in Renaissance Ekphrasis, was co-winner of the Elizabeth Dietz Award for the best publication in early modern English literary studies. She is Tow Associate Professor of English and Chair of the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Program at Barnard College in New York City.
