By day Frankie is just a lazy cat, but by night he is transformed into Frankie Pants! Frankie Pants is a series of engaging picture books for pre-school and kindy-aged children about the nightly antics of the neighbourhood feline, Frankie, who turns from lazy cat by day to superhero by night. Each book starts with the same introduction to Frankie, before moving onto the particular story. The intention is to create a series of books capturing a different scenario for Frankie each time and building the child's love for his character and nightly escapades. The first book in the series is Frankie Pants & Mr Fox. In this book our modern-day hero fights to save the neighbourhood from the dastardly devious Mr Fox. Frankie Pants is written in memory of beloved family cat Frankie, who sadly passed away in late 2017. He was a great friend and loyal companion to Helen's eldest son Alexander, for whom the books are written.
Helen Lear is a communications consultant, writer and author. Since becoming a mum of two boys, Helen has aspired to create her own stories that will engage, entertain and inspire them and other children to become strong, brave and kind young people. As a child growing up in the southwest of England, Helen had a passion for writing and books, often producing illustrated short stories to give to family and friends. She went on to focus on language and literature in her studies before heading off to travel the world, finally arriving in Sydney, Australia in 2005 and putting down roots. Her career as a communications consultant and writer saw her love for the written word continue to grow, until writing her own book became the obvious next step. In 2020 Helen's first book baby was born, Frankie Pants & Mr Fox, an ode to the family's beloved cat, Frankie.
