NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHORHow do we get through dark times when we feel like giving in to fear and despair, and when existential dread has convinced us of our smallness? In this real, resonant book, Anne Lamott uses her own recent marriage as a framework to explore how our lives can be enlarged through renewed commitment to ourselves and those around us. With warmth and wit, she looks at what it means to care for the soul when struggling with fear and dread and to emerge with exuberance, purpose and possibility, with new love for and joy in those around us. Our lives shouldn' t be about what gets us ahead in the game or the demands other make on us. Wise, compassionate and spiritually uplifting, Dusk, Night, Dawn is a book for anyone looking for Christian hope and encouragement in times of fear and dread. It will leave you restored, and show you how you can care for your soul and live peacefully and exuberantly going forward.
Lamott is a cause for celebration. [Her] real genius lies in capturing the ineffable, describing not perfect moments, but imperfect ones . . . perfectly. She is nothing short of miraculous. * The New Yorker * Lamott is a superb writer. Her voice is one-of-a-kind: deft, folksy, cheerfully hostile . . . She is witty and funny and smart. * The Washington Post * Best bathtub read for me would be anything by Anne Lamott. . . . She always makes me laugh and she embraces all the broken bits. -- Andie MacDowell, actress I keep learning a lot from the clear and great Annie Lamott. I think you will, too. -- Gloria Steinem
Anne Lamott is the author of many books, including the New York Times bestsellers Hallelujah Anyway, Small Victories and Some Assembly Required. A past recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and an inductee to the California Hall of Fame, she lives in Northern California.
