LONNIE G. BUNCH III is the Smithsonian' s 14th secretary and founding director of the Smithsonian' s National Museum of African American History and Culture. He has also served as president of the Chicago Historical Society and associate director for curatorial affairs at the Smithsonian' s National Museum of American History. He is the author of A Fool' s Errand and more than a dozen books on history, race, and museum studies.
