From the jungles of Cambodia and a chance encounter with a local medicine woman comes Be(loved), poet Dakota Adan' s debut collection of poems, tracing the epic question of what it means to be loved. Hailed as ' an essential book for those seeking self-love,' this heartfelt anthology lends voice to the heartbreak and healing of our soul' s quest to reunite with whom we always hoped we could be - ourselves.
Dakota Adan leapt onto the poetry scene in 2018 and was heralded as a modern mystic, with critics likening his works to the poetic styling' s of the Sufi masters like Rumi and Hafiz. He quickly found himself performing in iconic art spaces like Da Poetry Lounge in LA, Bali Indonesia, and writing commissioned poetry for the Moroccan Tourism Authority. His love of travel and world religions heavily influenced his work and took him as far away as India, Egypt and Cambodia in search of the perfect string of words. After a transformative trip working with children in the slums of Delhi, Dakota decided to release his first collection of poetry entitled Be(loved) in March of 2019, which quickly became a #1 New Release and Best Seller on Amazon. As a mixed-race, lgbt writer, Dakota aims to lend voice to the myriad of intersections he occupies; using poetry as both a bridge and remedy for the loneliness that accompanies a media rich and connection poor world. And with a blossoming online community of over 100,000 strong across platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and twitter, Dakota has no plans of slowing down. With fellow poet Allie Michelle, he is now co-hosting a podcast called ' The Path of The Artist' aimed at elevating creatives everywhere. In his words, "Until the very texture of feeling has been perfectly named, I have only just begun. "
