But the stories also find moments of grace, solace and unlikely triumph. With unflinching honesty and dramatic flair, Amy Head gives us a new view of a place and a people on the margins.
Amy Head was born in 1976. She grew up in Hamilton, Auckland and Christchurch, all the while visiting the West Coast for summer holidays. In 2010 she returned from a long stint in London to complete her MA in Creative Writing at Victoria University. That year she started Tough, which is her first book.
