Kathryn van Beek is one of the most intriguing voices in contemporary New Zealand literature. A graduate of Victoria University' s Institute of Modern Letters, Kathryn is the winner of the Mindfood Short Story Competition and the Headland Short Story Prize. She is also the momager of Aotearoa' s third most famous cat. Stories from Pet have been, or will be, published in The Sunday Star-Times, Takahe, Headland, Bonsai, Newsroom, The Valley Review, Geometry and Fresh Ink. The story The Nor' Wester was highly commended for The Sargeson Prize.
