This publication provides an overview of the many skills involved in lighting design from the manufacturing process to what the end-user can expect. The text mainly addresses the predominant light source of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) from a different perspective, including methods of construction and use together with associated specifications that accompany the merchandise. However, the main focus is on various aspects of light output from LEDs and what to expect from this light source in comparison to previous technologies, which are quickly becoming superseded. This book is unique as it covers a range of information from different areas within the industry but does not concentrate on one topic in particular. The text is comprehensive, yet concise with appropriate diagrams. While the book is supplementary to a previous edition in 2014 it also stands alone as it contains new information specific to LEDs and is useful for anybody who desires more knowledge on the topic.
