As you can glean from the title of this collection, In Between Sentences explores the relationships between people, things, the observable and unobservable. Written over the course of four years, poems in this collection comment on the role of the little things in between and their influence on us. In Between Sentences is Bart English's fourth published collection but is his most mature project to date. Spanning the time period after graduating from University, In Between Sentences documents Bart's progression as a spirited young writer attempting to articulate the little forces that influence the way things happen over time: relationships, silence, distance, memories. Influences of his own experiences make their way into the book including disability, reflections on his relationships and the effect of social distance and isolation on people.
