From Trevor Crowe's childhood escapades growing up in a working-class Christchurch neighbourhood, to his formative years in and around the motor trade, and his long list of successes, achievements and the challenges faced along the way, As the Crowe Flies shares the epic tale of one of New Zealand's great adventurers. For many, Trevor is best known for his motor-racing exploits, but he is a competitor in every sense, far beyond the racetrack. From running marathons, tackling the Coast to Coast, and even risking life and limb in the notorious Marat'n N'utico del R'o Balsas Mexican powerboat race, his story is an inspirational one. This most remarkable Kiwi, with his ever-positive attitude, boundless energy, and addictive sense of humour, works alongside author Steve Holmes to chronicle his most fascinating life, a life lived to the full.
To date, Steve Holmes has written over 20 books, with his great passion being motorsport history. He writes for publishers in New Zealand, as well as the United Kingdom and the United States, and has penned hundreds of magazine articles. In 2011, Steve founded theroaringsea'son.com website and online discussion forum, providing a place for enthusiasts of racing history to share their stories and photos. The website grew quickly and expanded to a Facebook page that now boasts more than 50,000 followers. The latest addition to The Roaring Season arsenal is a YouTube page, where Steve features historic racing cars and car collections. Wairarapa-based.
